Living with Water : Environmental Art Project

Skagit Land Trust, Trumpeter Creek, 4520 E. College Way, Mount Vernon

Imagine the sheer volume of water in a flood event in a one-day immersive environmental art installation. Enter a translucent outdoor room that simulates the experience of high water at the Skagit Land Trust Trumpeter Creek Restoration Site on the edge of Barney Lake, 4520 E. College Way, Mount Vernon. Join artists Cynthia Camlin, Heidi Epstein and Jasmine Valandani, who created the project, Living with Water, as part of the “Surge” exhibition at the Museum of Northwest Art, La Conner, October 6, 2017 to January 7, 2018. Organized by MoNA and the Skagit Climate Science Consortium, “Surge” is designed to draw attention to climate change and its impact on the Northwest’s coastal communities.
